PRESIDENT EISENHOWER’S CHRISTMAS TREE

A Black Hills spruce was cut from this stump and taken to Washington D.C. where it was the center of attrition at the Christmas Pagent of Peace on the White House lawn in December 1955.


1955 National Christmas Tree on display in Washington DC was cut in the Black Hills Forest under President Ike Eisenhower. A small group of people are viewing the tree. Photograph was taken from a distance showing a wooden walkway between two rows of smaller decorated trees leading to the large one.
