One of George Custer’s men, Private James King, died of dysentery in August of 1874, creating the oldest grave site in The Blackhills of South Dakota. I named this farmstead Private James King Cabin in honor of this soldier who was to die one month after he explored this area, and because the farmstead is on PRIVATE land.
